In the beginning

So my friend and I were very strange together in high school. Okay, we are still pretty strange, but that's all relative, no? We both watched the same episode of Late Night with David Letterman in which people in the audience had two signs. They held the signs side-by-side. One sign read "Happy Da," and the other sign read "Birthday ve." Put them together and what does that spell? You can figure it out. Well, anyway, we now use this as kind of a. . . password (?) if you will. One of us will randomly call, text, or say "Happy da," and the other responds with "Birthday ve." I would like to think that if ever the world were overrun with Body Snatchers and we had to prove our true identities to one another that this is the phrase we would use. So Happy Da everybody. And Birthday ve to you.
